Community Volunteer Income Tax (CVITP)

vector - taxes helpThe Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) helps eligible taxpayers who do not know how to prepare their income tax and benefit returns, and who have low to modest income and a simple tax situation.

The program DOES NOT complete returns with income from: farming, rental, capital gains, deceased persons, bankruptcies, business, self employed, fishing or interest over $1000.

Upon delivering your information slips to the office, you will  be asked to fill out a questionnaire.  All information will be left with the volunteer doing your taxes and you will be contacted when it is completed.  It is your responsibility to pick up your tax forms and mail them away.  Two Hills FCSS does not e-file tax forms to date.  Taxes are done on a drop in basis year around.

2017 Suggested Income Thresholds:

Single Person – $30,000

Couple – $40,000

Adult with one child – $35,000

for each additional dependent you have, add $2500 to family income

A volunteer travels to the Village office of Myrnam and Hamlet office of Willingdon once a week in March & April in order to assist residents with their taxes.
