The Two Hills FCSS (Family Community Support Services) provides preventative social programs that help people improve their quality of life and enhance their capacity to deal with crisis situations should they arise. Focus is on:
- Encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyles
- Strengthening and stabilizing family and community life
- Improving people’s ability to identify and act on their own needs
- Helping to avoid family or community social breakdown
- Encouraging cooperation and coordination among community groups and service agencies
Located in Northeastern Alberta, Two Hills FCSS (Family Community Support Services) is a partnership between the Province of Alberta and the Town of Two Hills, County of Two Hills and the villages of Myrnam and Willingdon. FCSS is funded as a partnership with the Province of Alberta (80%) and the municipal governments of Two Hills (20%). The Two Hills FCSS is one of several hundred FCSS programs, each unique and serving their communities’ needs.
Municipalities, through board members appointed on their behalf, determine where the need for programming and services lie. Programs and services can be targeted to individuals of any age, to families, or to entire communities. We also provide information and referral services and support to volunteer work in the community.
FCSS is involved in direct service programs as well as community planning. If you see a need in the community or if you have an idea for a program we will be happy to discuss it with you.
In addition to working with all levels of government, we partner with a number of other groups, organizations and associations to bring programs and services to our region.
